Product Introduction:

XGN15-12 box-type fixed AC metal-enclosed switchgear (I and II) uses an SF6 switch as the main switch, while the complete cabinet is air-insulated. It is suitable for distribution automation and features a compact, expandable structure, simple construction, flexible operation, reliable interlocking, and convenient installation. It can provide satisfactory technical solutions for various user requirements. With sensor technology, the latest protection breakers, advanced technical performance, and lightweight flexible assembly solutions, it meets changing market requirements. The main switches may adopt original ABB SFG SF6 load switches, FLN series load switches, permanent-magnet mechanical vacuum circuit breakers, GE Power/Vac VB vacuum circuit breakers, and others. Manual and electric operation modes are available.

HXGN15-12 box-type (indoor) fixed AC metal-enclosed switchgear is a new generation of complete high-voltage electrical equipment. Compared with the previous GG-1(A) switchgear, it offers higher insulation level and protection rating. The product is used in 3-12 kV single-bus and single-bus-with-bypass systems as complete high-voltage equipment for receiving and distributing electric power. It was independently designed and developed by absorbing advanced overseas technology and addressing issues such as the high accident rate and large volume of existing domestic switchgear of the same type. The circuit breaker offers good performance and high reliability, and the “five-prevention” interlocking mechanism is reliable and simple. It is widely used in substations, switching stations, industrial and mining enterprises, wind power generation, power plants, and other applications.

All product indicators comply with technical standards such as GB 3906, “3-35 kV AC Metal-Enclosed Switchgear,” IEC 298, “AC Metal-Enclosed Switchgear and Controlgear,” and the power industry standard DL/T 404, “Technical Conditions for Ordering Indoor AC High-Voltage Switchgear.”


Product Features:

The ring main unit consists of a busbar compartment, load switch (or circuit breaker) compartment, cable compartment, operating mechanism, interlocking mechanism, low-voltage control compartment, and measurement or metering circuits. Each compartment is separated by steel plates to prevent faults from affecting adjacent compartments.

The busbar compartment is located in the upper part of the cabinet. In the busbar compartment, the main busbars are connected and run through the entire switchgear lineup. The busbars are arranged horizontally for convenient expansion.

The load switch compartment contains one load switch. The load switch enclosure is cast from epoxy resin and filled with SF6 gas as the arc-extinguishing and insulating medium. Two transparent thermoformed plastic end caps are installed at the operating shaft outlet, allowing observation of contact status. According to customer requirements, the switch compartment can be equipped with an SF6 gas density meter or a gas density device with alarm contacts.

The circuit breaker compartment is located in the middle of the cabinet and can be equipped with a dedicated vacuum circuit breaker or SF6 circuit breaker according to customer needs. Its breaking capacity meets normal switching operations, branch network operations, and short-circuit current breaking under special conditions. The vacuum circuit breaker is especially suitable for network systems requiring frequent operation. The circuit breaker is equipped with a spring operating mechanism, has reclosing capability, and offers reliable operation and long service life.

The cable compartment is mainly used for cable connection, allowing single-core or three-core cables to be connected with simple unscreened cable terminations. The spacious compartment can also accommodate arresters, current transformers, lower earthing switches, and other components. According to the standard design, the cabinet door has an observation window and safety interlock. The cable compartment floor is equipped with sealing covers and appropriately sized cable clamps with brackets. The front frame of the cable compartment floor can be removed for convenient cable installation.

The interlocked low-voltage compartment also functions as a control panel. It contains a spring operating mechanism with position indicator and a mechanical interlocking device. Auxiliary contacts, trip coils, emergency trip mechanisms, capacitive live indicators, key locks, and electric operating devices can also be installed. The low-voltage compartment also provides space for control circuits, recording instruments, and protection relays. A 750 mm wide cabinet has two identical low-voltage compartments, allowing more accessories to be installed.

The cabinet is made of aluminum-zinc coated sheet processed and assembled by CNC.

This switchgear has an attractive appearance, good exterior quality, compact internal structure, scientific and rational layout, and easy maintenance. It adopts air insulation, and different compartments are separated by metal partitions. Each compartment has an independent pressure relief channel, providing reliable protection and safe maintenance.

The VS1-12 vacuum circuit breaker matched with this cabinet is fixed-mounted, with stable performance, reliable operation, high design parameters, and good interlocking with the switchgear.

The improved GN30-12 series disconnector with earthing switch used in this cabinet features a scientific and reasonable design, flexible operation, and reliable operating sequence.

The operating mechanism interlock adopts an improved JSXGN-12 interlocking mechanism, which is simple, reliable, convenient, and practical. It enables the cabinet’s “five-prevention” functions to achieve excellent performance and ensures safe and reliable maintenance.
